The CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, has launched a new initiative to help people professionals in Singapore further their expertise, in collaboration with the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI).

Two of the three programmes will launch on 20 November 2020 — Workforce Planning Essentials and Delivering Transformational Change. These programmes will receive up to 90% government subsidy under the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) initiative. The third programme – Job Analysis and Job Redesign in Practice is estimated to be launched in Jan 2021.

Kenneth Low, Regional Director at CIPD Asia, said: “The CIPD has always been at the forefront of helping people and organisations realise their full potential and we are delighted that our internationally recognised programmes will now be even more accessible to people professionals and SME business leaders in Singapore.’’

“We are committed to providing world-class HR and people development programmes that are principles-led, evidence-based and outcomes driven, and we are pleased to partner with SHRI as our SSG-approved training provider in this collaboration.’’

People professionals as well as executive leaders of SMEs, can expect to develop evidence-based techniques to help shape an adaptive workforce and deliver transformational change, as well as other skills.

This first series of programmes is designed to help businesses to tackle root cause issues, rather than rely on stop gap solutions that could prove expensive in the long run. Each of these programmes have been carefully selected to help organisations with their workforce transformation and bring the necessary HR and people skills to support organisations prepare for the future.

Workforce Planning Essentials will give consideration on how we manage our resources, particularly our key resource: Manpower. Job Analysis and Job Redesign in Practice addresses learning and application of tools and techniques to enlarge, enrich and engage the workforce, enabling the creation of future-proofed jobs. Delivering Transformational Change will take a hard look at what skills and expertise we will need to take us forward and achieve sustainable business growth by taking a step back to think about the organisation strategy.

“SHRI is excited to be partnering with CIPD in the launch of these timely and essential funded programmes. The pandemic has caused paradigm shifts in businesses which has impacted workplace and workforce policies and processes tremendously. These programmes will aid HR professionals/ business leaders better plan for their businesses and workforce and see to the needs and aids of these changes.” Said, Alvin Goh, Executive Director at SHRI.

Each course will be delivered over two days by expert facilitators. Successful participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SSG and in addition, a joint certificate from the CIPD and SHRI on completing the course.
